Tom Dick and Harry - Men's Leather Driving Gloves - Black & Tan

These are amongst the finest driving gloves we have ever offered:  Take a look at the workmanship around the knuckle cut-outs, the asymetrical hand-applied perforations on the palm, the subtle use of contrast stitching and the small but important use of contrast leather on the popper and the knuckles.

These leather driving gloves for men are made with a classic D-cutout at the back of the hand and knuckle cut-outs.  The wrist opening has a poppered strap fastening for a secure fit.

Little details make these gloves that little bit special:  Double thickness leather on the wrist opening so the glove does not stretch when pulling it on and the very finest outseam contrast stiching on the outside of the fingers combined with inseam stiching on the thumb and palm side of the fingers, for maximum comfort and sensitivity whilst driving.

Determining your glove size is easy...it's the width of your hand, not the length, that's important.

Take a tape measure or piece of string and wrap it around your dominant hand (right hand if right handed) at the widest point across the palm and over the back of the hand. Normally just above the kuckles will be the correct point (above=in the direction of the wrist).

Do not include the thumb. The tape should pass between the forefinger and thumb. Close your fist slightly, so your hand is naturally relaxed.

This measurement in inches is your glove size. It is important to be accurate as every half-inch is a different size.

If between sizes, we suggest you round down: Gloves should be snug (but not tight) when first tried on. They will soon accommodate the shape of your hand.

Different glove manufacturers have different size scales, so we suggest you use the measurement to find your size.

Made for the job

Well made glove, giving good grip on the steering wheel. Fingers a little short but this may improve with use.

Great quality but fit isn't right
Friday, 17 February 2017  |  Stephen

The glove itself is very well made, no issues there. The gloves fit however isn't perfect. The knuckle holes are half an inch from my knuckle and the inner seam is too short to fit around the webbing of my fingers.
When I opened the package the first thing anyone does is detach the gloves from one another and try them on, this without knowing it voids the returns policy because I snipped some thread.
I think this needs to be looked into by their sales team as I would of sent the gloves back to try a bigger size perhaps, even though the body of the glove fit perfectly.
Perhaps a S/M/L finger length should be added to their sizing.

Response:

Hello Stephen,
Many thanks for your detailed review. We're glad you like the quality of the gloves. We take you point about separating the gloves, and if the gloves are unworn, we would be happy to exchange them for a larger pair. The gloves are attached to one another to avoid the need for a discussion whether the gloves have been worn or not. We use a number of glove makers as each has their own idea of the perfect fit. Just as with shoes, some lasts will suit you better than others. Customers are welcome to call us for fitting advice and measurements.
Kind regards,
Curtis.

Great detail, super soft
Tuesday, 17 January 2017  |  Adrian

These are my first pair of gloves from TD&H. And I'm sure they won't be my last. I was between sizes but went for the size smaller on advice. The super soft leather has now moulded to a perfect fit. The detail of contrasting colours adds an extra touch of class.

Response:

That's a great review - thank you Adrian. We look forward to you trying some of our other designs.

Well made, but not perfect fit
Sunday, 22 November 2015  |  James

I'm not sure if it's just me that has a strange shape hand or what, but I do seem to struggle with gloves. The fit is ok but I needed to modify them slightly. They were a little to short in the fingers, apart from the little finger, that's way to long and the body was way to big, so much so they would ride up my hand. I unstitched the leather around the wrist strap press stud and moved the strap in to reduce its length and restitched, the fit is now a little better. I measure between 8.5 and 9 inches but I went for the 9. I think I'd need a 10 inch fingers, apart from the little finger and an 8 inch body to fit perfectly. Having said all that, they are are well made nice pair of gloves, the leather is really soft and grips the steering wheel surprising well. I would recomend them, in fact I sent a link to my friend that's just brough an old Alfa.

Dear James,
Thanks for your detailed review....but as you say, it could be you! We're impressed by your attention to detail and the perseverence in getting the right fit, which demonstrates to us that you've had this problem with gloves before. We're glad you found the gloves well made and the leather really soft. We agree, these are great driving gloves.
Regards
Curtis
